Yum Yum Sauce (Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse Sauce)
Also known as Sakura sauce (white sauce). This is a dipping sauce commonly found in Japanese steakhouses. It’s a Japanese mayonnaise (Kewpie) based sauce with mirin (rice wine), rice vinegar, garlic powder, sweet paprika and ketchup. I like to dip my hibachi steak, pork dumplings, and shrimp in this tasty sauce.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup mayonnaise (Kewpie)
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 1/2 tsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp mirin (rice wine)
1 tsp garlic granules
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
2 Tbsp cool water
DIRECTIONS:
Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, rice vinegar, mirin, garlic granules, sweet paprika, and cool water.
Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.a
